An opportunity to preview three of the films on next season’s Block Booking List using Blu-ray DVDs and to judge for yourself the difference that a high definition source makes to projected films.

Made with wit, care and affection, Davies’ autobiographical docu-essay consists of archive footage of the people and places of his youth in Liverpool from the post-war austerity years to the sixties.

An enjoyably devious thriller set mainly on the Beijing to Moscow train. Absorbing and unpredictable, it gains from a versatile cast including Emily Mortimer and Ben Kingsley as a Russian detective.

The 2009 Annual General Meeting of the Yorkshire Regional Group of the British Federation of Film Societies will be held on Sunday 21 June 2009 at 1.30pm at the Galtres Centre, Easingwold
All members of Yorkshire film societies are welcome to attend.
Any volunteers or nominations for Committee Members or Officers should be sent to the Secretary or put forward at the meeting
